Technical Q&A

What is the laser wavelength utilized for OraLase?

The wavelength of non-ionizing laser energy used is 1064nm.

What delivery systems are approved for use in delivering OraLase, BabyLase and RestOralase?

The only delivery systems that have been tested for safety and efficacy are the Fotona Lightwalker (using the R30 and Genova handpieces)and XPulse units (using modified the silver therapy handpiece)

What are the settings used?

We need to make it clear that the "setting" is not as important as the sensation created by the technique as delivered by a provider trained in how to properly assess their patient to determine the ideal setting.

Why can't other laser wavelengths and delivery systems be used to provide OraLase & BabyLase?

The 1064 nm wavelength is unique in its ability to safely create the appropriate amount of heat to create the gentle warmth needed to melt away the restrictions beneath the surface of the skin or mucosa that are acting as a "glue" between the underlying muscle and fascia.  (hyaluronic acid) The use of other wavelengths would have the increased risk of creating too much heat on the surface without the appropriate amount of comfortable warmth to the deeper tissues (muscle and fascia) created with OraLase, BabyLase and RestOralase.

Why are these technique so specific?

There is a special neurological pathway utilized to access the opening of the "limbic window" as one of the goals of treatment.  Without this pathway being understood and used correctly by the  provider, the profound results associated with these procedures are not observed or enjoyed by patients and the treatmetn outcomes are potentially less than ideal.

Detailed instruction on how to apply the healing principles behind OraLase, BabyLase and RestOralase are provided in a two or three day course along with virtual content to support ongoing learning.
